Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman may not be returning to Chelsea after the end of his loan spell at German top flight side Schalke O4.
The Chelsea player who is currently on loan at Schalke may not return to the Stamford Bridge after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte handed his number 6 jersey to Chelsea's returnee Nathan Ake who has been recalled from loan at Bournemouth.
The 21 year old Ake has impressed on his 6-month loan move away from the current English Premier League leaders and has been recalled to his parent club to provide competition to Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso; a position the Ghanaian struggled to make his bonafide property until his loan move to Germany.
The number 6 jersey which Baba prefers at Chelsea has now been handed to Nathan Ake who can play in a number of defensive roles.
Conte has praised the young versatile player for his ability to provide options and bring variety to the table amd is looking to make him an instrumental part of Chelsea's league aspiration this season.
The number 6 jersey has been worn by top Chelsea players in the past. notable of them are Marcel Dessaily and Ricardo Caervalho. Baba Rahman and Oriol Romeu being the most recent Chelsea players to wear the jersey.
22 year old Baba has played six Champions League games and 13 Bundesliga matches so far since joining Schalke on loan.
