Former Accra Hearts of Oak winger, Bernard Don Bortey vows to play for the senior national team, Black Stars of Ghana in the near future.

Dong Bortey, popularly known as the "humble Lion" is presently training with Hearts of Oak, seeking to relaunch his career and feature for the club in the upcoming 2016/17 Ghana premier league season.

The 34-year old ex- Aduana stars playmaker, speaking to Takoradi based "Aseda Fm" emphasized that his aim is to play for the Black Stars.

" Is never too late, I believe in God, I 'Dong Bortey' will wear Black Stars jersey again. All I need is prayers from Ghanaians, with determination and faith nothing can stop me from playing for the senior national team again." He stated.

Bortey insisted he has more to do for the country when given the chance.

"There is always a chance in life and am now matured with good football guardians." He said.

Bortey played twenty-seven games for the Black Stars and scored nine times, He also represented Black Starlets of Ghana in the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship in New Zealand, where he played 6 games and scored 3 goals.
