Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko C.K Akunnor says he will grab the opportunity to sign Asamoah Gyan if he decides to join his childhood club now.

This comes after the Black Stars captain reiterated his desire to play for the club during the launch of a partnership between one of his companies, Paradise Pac Mineral Water and Kotoko at a ceremony in Kumasi.

“I am a big fan of Kotoko, I have been supporting this team since day one,” the 32 year said.

“It is a great honor to be part of, let me say this, before I will draw the curtains down on my career I will wear the red jersey.” He added

In response to Gyan’s comments, Akunnor told reporters he is ready to work with the Kayserispor forward immediately if he decides to quit playing abroad.

”Asamoah Gyan comes with a lot of packages and what he has achieved in his career will cushion the young ones to also do more for the club. I will welcome Asamoah Gyan if he quits international football to join Asante Kotoko, even now”

A move that will see Ghana’s All time leading scorer form a mouthwatering striking partnership with fans’ favorite Yacouba Songne.

The 26 year old Burkinabe import who has been outstanding for the Porcupine Warriors since joining from Malian side Stade Malian.
